Tuesday's treasures :do we really appreciate our treasures.? On Saturday we lost a big tree.It fell into our neighbour's place and crushed 2 of the family's cars. It was a dreadful day . Rain and horrible driving wind. My dh and neighbour cleaned and cut and sawed all afternoon. I appreciate what they did but spare a thought for these men and women. They got to our place 6 hours after it happened. There were about 400 trees that fell that day. these SES had a very busy weekend. Father's day was probably missed. I am thankful that they were out and about. they are treasures that don't often get remembered .

The SES really are a treasure to the whole community. I'm so sorry about your tree and the neighbours cars too. Not your fault but still a little embarrassing. I know, it happened to us once.

It is only when emergencies occur that we realise just how many give of their services. They are indeed Treasures.
It appears you folk had a most unpleasant weekend. I do hope things are improving now.

Timely reminder Liz. Sorry to hear about your tree and your neighbours cars, but you are right, what would we do without the wonderful SES volunteers?

The SES helped me out too a few years ago when my very large tree fell on my neighbour's house. You are so right to remind us all what a fabulous job they do.

Shame about the tree. Yes the SES are treasures. They are wonderful community minded people.

It's lucky it was only the neighbour's cars and not the neighbours themselves or your family. It's inconvenient to replace material things but it's more difficult to replace a person. We haven't had the assistance of the local SES yet but I always support their fundraising as you never know when or by whom they will be needed.
